Licensing

StServer has the following license types:

  • VOD mode
  • Live mode
  • Live low latency mode
  • Number of concurrent users
  • VOD for StPlayer

VOD mode:

VOD for StPlayer is a basic license. It allows on demand video playback for web and StPlayer clients. Video files can be uploaded (using front end,upload utility or via API) and then consumed by clients. Users can perform various queries (geo, time, metadata, etc), set bookmarks, etc

Live mode:

Live mode is a license that allows (near) live streaming (HLS). Video is streamed with original quality. The delay depends on the HLS segments duration ( ~ x3)

Live low latency mode:

Live low latency mode is a license that allows live low latency (WebRTC and proprietary, over websockets) video streaming. Video is transcoded on the fly (according to the configuration parameters)

Number of concurrent users:

Restriction on the number of concurrent users.

VOD for StPlayer:

A special license type that allows one web client and an unlimited number of StPlayer clients. This one is usually for on demand video playback only
