Cursor On Target

Cursor on Target, or CoT, is an XML-based situational-awareness format originally developed by The MITRE Corporation. It describes what an object is, when the event occurs, and where it is located.

KLV Inspector can convert MISB EG 0601.4 UAS LDS or UDS metadata into CoT messages for network output.

Conversion Model​

The conversion follows MISB EG 0805 guidance and generates the basic CoT message types derived from KLV telemetry, including:

  • platform-position style messages
  • sensor point-of-interest style messages

In practice, the converter decodes the current KLV packet and builds the corresponding situational-awareness message according to the selected mode.
